Popped into our Tairua project of a 2 bedroom self

Popped into our Tairua project of a 2 bedroom self contained unit above an exisiting garage.

Really happy with how it's opened up to the view and the ocean. And how spacious it feels inside - especially with a 2.2m ceiling height at the back.

This was an exercise in fitting into a tight building control envelope as the client was adamant they didn't want to go through a Resource Consent process.

The digger goes through another piece of Auckland

The digger goes through another piece of Auckland and New Zealand modernism today.

International House in Whitaker Place designed by Ivan Mercep of JASMaD (the forerunner of @jasmax) for @universityofauckland and completed in 1968.

International House was recognised by @nziarchitects at Auckland level in 1970, National level in 1971 and earned a 25 year award in 1996.

This one definitely stings a bit. I lived there in 1995 and 1996 and the experience shaped me and led to many friendships that I hold close today especially in architecture. And especially the Rogue Architects.
